Oh, my! That’s all I can say about this project – a filet crochet stole*! It all started when I found that I had a whole lot of extra ecru cotton crochet thread after making up several sets of these nifty wine glass skirts with it. “What else can I create from this lovely stuff?” I wondered. That question led me to the discovery of the pattern for this beautiful stole.
Filet crochet follows a grid-like pattern of open and closed squares to create a precise design. It was a delight to see its diamond pattern emerge as this stole “grew” before my eyes. It’s truly beautiful – so intricate and detailed.
For the finishing touch, this spectacular accessory features fringe with aurora borealis crystals.
I’d like to try to convey the sense of satisfaction and joy I’ve experienced creating this stylish stole. I look forward to wearing it to effortlessly enhance an outfit. Now all I need is a special occasion!

*A stole is traditionally longer and narrower than a shawl. This one measures nearly 7’ long and at least 2’ wide. Stoles are traditionally worn across the back and over the shoulders.
